Black Book is ledger of effects caused by man's imperfect knowledge. These are registered through the voices of imperiled creatures -- giraffes, sparrows, termites. What these creatures say is dire and grim, though we can find hope in the fact that Levchev's gift has found a way to make them speak. Now, all we need to do is listen.
