I’m thinking about
the dolls in the attic

I put an hourglass
into the palm
of the statue

too many blossoms
under the tree
after the earthquake

* * *

back from fishing
a couple of pebbles
in my pocket

* * *

white dove
in front of the church
still empty

* * *

the longest night
a raven steals the eyes
of a snowman

* * *

distant thunder
trembling trees huddled
around the house

* * *

she draws the curtains
between the winter
and me

* * *

fading moon
the dead man’s eyes
still open
